elf bowling game

It was Christmas Eve, alone in my sofa-bed

Twas the night before Christmas when the house
Not a creature stirred, not even a mouse;
But me on my couch feeling like a louse,
Prohibited at night for my wife on the floor.
We grew apart over the years,
That was an idiot and has caused many tears.
The stockings were hung by the chimney carefully
In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
and I doubt of its existence, even more than he could bear.
The children are all hot in their beds,
While visions of candy around in his head;
And Mama in her kerchief, upstairs in tears
I rethink my life and I wear my hat hot
Had been established only for a long nap,
But sleep alone at Christmas is just a sap
although the sofa bed is comfortable as a journey.
When the grass was no such noise,
I jumped the couch to see what it was.
Far from the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw the chassis.
The moon on the breast of fresh snow fall
Gave the luster of midday to objects below,
And I wanted my wife and I together can see that brightness.
When what to my question eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer,
With a little old driver, so lively and quick
He knew that at a time to be be St. Nicholas.
I ran up the stairs and turned the lights suddenly
Gently woke my wife and told her that in the immediate future was not a Game.
More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
And he whistled and shouted and called them by name;
"Now, Dasher! Now Dancer! Now, Prancer and Vixen!
In the comet! in love! on, Donder and Blitzen!
Go to the top of the gallery! Go to the top of the wall!
Now dash away! address table now! Panel taken everything! "
My wife and I went down the stairs,
She was always angry, why why life has so many layers?
At home for the horses flew
With the sleigh full of toys, and Saint-Nicolas-well.
And then in a twinkling, I heard on the roof
The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.
My wife and I were on the floor
Hidden behind the convertible sofa, not to make noise
In the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.
He was dressed all in fur from head to toe
And his clothes were stained with all ashes and soot;
A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,
And he looked like a peddler just opening the bag.
Their eyes – how they twinkled! his dimples how happy!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
so much joy that I had not seen so long
Could I have in my life, feel at home?
He had a broad face and a little round belly,
That shook when laughed like a bowl of jelly.
He was chubby and plump, a right happy elf,
And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;
My wife shoulder pulled me convince
But when I looked up, smiled like a blunder.
My heart filled with love and grew as he looked at his face,
And she knew it was a soul filled with grace.
A look at Santa Claus and a twist of the head,
Soon we announced that we had nothing to fear;
He said a word but went straight to work,
And filled all the stockings, then a sudden
And laying his finger beside his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney;
He sprang to his sleigh, his team gave a whistle,
And they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard him scream before he drove out of sight,
"Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night."
Then I took the hand of my wife he said he felt sorry
I was fortunate to have the life treatment.
He also apologized, as she took my hand
I felt like a man and is not prohibited.
Now, lying here together, loving sleepers
Leaving behind the sofa-bed.
